Serengeti - Ngorongoro Highlands

This morning, we will be taking you to the next stage of your safari. Along the way, you'll get to enjoy one last game drive. You'll learn why magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa.

Cloud forests encircle the crater rim, and the view across the caldera of this former volcano - quite apart from the altitude - will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail will take you to the crater floor, where a unique wildlife offering adds to the sheer beauty of the experience.

You'll share the sunken ecosystem of the crater floor with hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos, and hippos. This ecosystem has formed in the crater in the millennia since the volcano wrought its terrible fury upon the land. It could just be one of your best safari days ever.

As we go our separate ways, we have no doubt that you leave us with new friends and with so many wonderful experiences that will live long in your memory.

Mto wa Mbu Village Tour - Arusha or Airport

In the morning, you can enjoy some leisure time at the lodge. After breakfast, you will drive to Mto wa Mbu village for a town tour. You will have a local lunch at the village.

Mto Wa Mbu is a bustling farming community located between Manyara and Ngorongoro, with a population of around 18,000 people. Spending half a day here with a knowledgeable local guide will allow you to discover a side of Tanzania that many visitors miss. Mto Wa Mbu is known as a melting pot of cultures and is believed to be one of the only places in Tanzania where there are representatives from all 120 communities living happily side by side. Despite the name translating to ‘Mosquito River’, thankfully, we didn't encounter many mosquitoes due to the permanent water source in the village.

You will be dropped off in Arusha town or at the airport for your ongoing schedule.
