Maun to Khwai

On arrival at Maun Airport you will be picked for the helicopter tour over the Okavango Delta. The flight will allow you to witness the patchwork landscape of islands, plains and lagoons, perfectly illustrating its raw and spectacular beauty. From above, the elephant highways will become visible, with the white Okavango sands shimmering in the clear water. After the tour you will be road transferred by your driver who will head with you to Khwai Concession and stay for three nights at Mogotlho Safari Lodge. After check-in you may go for a cultural tour conducted from the community of Mababe. Be curious and learn more about the co-existence of wildlife and humans in this African landscape and how dynamic and perspective has evolved over centuries. If culture is not your style you may opt for a two-hour night game drive that offers chance to see a different world of nocturnal species including owls and a variety of diurnally elusive predators. Conclude your day with dinner at the lodge.

Khwai Ultimate Tours

After breakfast you will be picked for a full day game drive were you will have a morning game drive and afternoon drive within the Khwai Concession. This safari pearl, surrounded by Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve and bordering the Okavango Delta, is a choice for the conscious safari enthusiast. Large herds of elephant and buffalo are drawn to the Khwai River in the dry months from April until October. Khwai is also known as a good area for lion sightings with large prides. Leopards are also in the Khwai area in good number; they love the mix of riparian forest with its large trees and open areas. The following day you will be picked for an early morning bushwalk along the banks of the Khwai River providing you with an opportunity to learn more about the indigenous flora and traditional medicinal uses of plants, getting up close and personal with nature. Later after lunch you will go for a half day mokoro trip over the Khwai River wrapping an adventurous day with dinner.

Travel back to Maun

After your peaceful three nights stay within the Kwai Concession your safari starts to draw to an end as you prepare for your last breakfast before you are transferred to the airport in Maun. Depending with your flight time before the safari tour ends you may opt for cooler hours of the early mornings on a game drive which is a favorite for guests and wildlife itself. After all has been done you will depart the lodge to be transferred back to Maun by road.
