Day 1

Kampala

Collection from Entebbe airport and then accommodation for the night in Kampala to relax and recuperate after your flight. Depending on your arrival time you will have your meals here and breakfast the following morning, either packed and taken with you or eaten before you leave for the start of your magical adventure. If you arrive in the morning there is the opportunity to look around Kampala.

Day 2

Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park

Arrive in Lake Mburo and stay within the park. All meals will be included and you will go on your first game drive on arrival. In the afternoon a boat ride on the Lake allows you to marvel at the birds and wildlife and take some amazing photos. A ranger will help you to spot harder to see wildlife and also identify birds and animals that you do not recognise. After this relaxing and enjoyable boat ride you will have dinner at the restaurant on the lake where Wart hogs graze outside and vervet monkeys play and feed in their groups. An evening game drive will give you a chance to see wildlife that ventures out when it is cool and if you are really lucky you may see a leopard.

Day 3

Lake Mburo early morning game drive

After a magical early morning game drive in Lake Mburo, you will leave after breakfast to travel to Ruhanga where you can have a choice of activities. Hiking a mountain for 3 hours, winding through rural properties and plantations to reach the summit and witness the spectacular view that reaches for miles. Or you can go into the local town for shopping and a true rural Ugandan town experience. Another option is visiting the rural charity funded school and medical centre where you can really immerse yourself in the Ugandan culture.

Day 4

Kalinzu chimpanzee trekking

Kalinzu chimpanzee trekking

Spend upto 6 hours trekking with an experienced guide looking for the chimpanzees and marvel at them in their family groups, grooming, foraging, feeding or maybe playing. There are a range of other primates that can also be seen from the black and white Colobus monkey, Olive Baboons amongst others. An amazing experience seeing these chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will need a relative level of fitness.

Day 5

Kazinga channel

Kazinga channel

Kazinga channel is an exceptional boat trip where herds of elephants come to the shores to drink and hippos wallow in schools of perhaps 100;s. Birds amass the area and crocodiles and monitor lizards bask in the sun or move through the shallows searching for food. When you have finished this boat ride you can visit the couple of local craft shops where locally made wooden carvings, amongst other gorgeous African handicrafts can be purchased.
From here you go onto Queen Elizabeth National park for an evening game drive before a wonderful evening meal and then an exceptional stay right within the park. Often on return to the Banda in the evening, the hippos are grazing the lawns outside. Have your evening meal and then sit outside listening to the sounds of African. See the eyes of the hyenas watching the waterbuck grazing and eyeing up their prey. A truly immersive experience that will create memories that last forever.

Day 6

Kasenyi within QE National Park

Kasenyi within QE National Park

A day of game drives, search for the rare tree climbing lions that only display this behaviour in a few places in the whole of Africa. Then staying within the QE National Park you will move to Kisenyi Lake retreat, winding through a local rural fishing village and arriving within the most magical of Queen Elizabeth's accommodation. Bandas on the shore of the Lake, alfresco dining experience submersed within the park and wildlife. On waking Elephants maybe wandering near your Banda, the snuffling and grunting of Hippos is the sound to wake to on this part of your safari. Take breakfast by the shores as the hippos bob up and down cooling themselves in the rising temperature. If you are on a fully guided tour for the more anxious traveller you can book outdoor mindfulness sessions here. Just enquire for prices as this is not included in price.

A second day here, exploring the vast park and being part of magical game drives. A visit to the salt lakes that are owned by our senior guide Dennis where the viewing of flamingos is a highlight. Early morning game drives searching for lions and leopards as well as buffaloes and a host of other animals and birds. This safari will make your soul sing and leave you with memories that will last you a life time. The chance to view local handicraft shops where you can purchase handmade souvenirs and gifts and help the local community at the same time. Unwind in the evening around a camp fire and relax.
