It is possible to do this self-guided or to book onto a guided trip directly with the lodge. But it is ideal to book with us in order to avoid the inconveniences.
Other extra activities you can enjoy today include a nature drive to search for desert-adapted wildlife, a dune walk, or even soaring above this breathtaking landscape in a hot air balloon, which is all optional for an extra cost.

Continuing on your safari today, the road takes you north and east into the wonderful and diverse region of Damaraland. You pass Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg which peaks at 2,573 m above sea level, and take time to view game and absorb the vastness of the scenery along the way. Damaraland is typified by displays of colour, magnificent table topped mountains, rock formations and bizarre-looking vegetation. The present day landscape has been formed by the erosion of wind, water and geological forces which have formed rolling hills, dunes, gravel plains and ancient river terraces. It is the variety and loneliness of the area as well as the scenic splendor which will reward and astound you, giving one an authentic understanding of the word 'wilderness'. If time allows this afternoon you will visit the nearby attractions and geological sites of the pre-historic Twyfelfontein rock engravings (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) - if not there is plenty of time to see them tomorrow.

Damaraland is home to a variety of desert adapted wildlife and hidden desert treasures. As the elephants are mostly active in the mornings you will normally have the best chance to see them then before returning to camp for lunch.

After breakfast, you’ll drive towards Etosha National Park. You arrive early afternoon and you can have a short game viewing drive with the lodge. However you will leave the park before sunset since the gates are closed before sunset. This applies to all the visitors whether you stay inside or outside.
Etosha offers fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly around the waterholes. You can expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras, springbok, and gemsbok. It’s also one of the best places in Southern Africa to see the endangered cheetah, black rhino, and rare antelope species such as black-faced impala, Damara dik-dik, and the roan antelope.
We offer a choice of superb lodges, both in the park and on its borders. Included in this trip is Etosha Oberland Lodge which is a great selection on the border of the park.

Etosha National Park
Today you will spend on full day to explore the variety of game at Etosha National Park. All the gates open upon the sunrise. If you are lucky you will catch the predators hunting their prey.
Despite being one of Africa's largest national parks, Etosha is easy to drive around yourself as all roads lead back to the main road. This means you can take your time visiting the many different waterholes where large concentrations of wildlife tend to congregate.
You can also choose to embark on a guided safari with the lodge, in Etosha National Park available at an extra cost.
Almost a quarter of Etosha consists of salt pans, including the Etosha Pan which is undoubtedly the park’s most distinctive and dramatic feature. The Etosha Pan is the only known mass breeding ground for flamingos in Namibia and at times there can be up to a million flamingos here.
