Hosea Kutako International Airport to AfriCat Foundation (Okonjima)
Upon your arrival at Windhoek International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you to Namibia. You will be guided after you are briefed in detail about your 11-day safari. Once you are done, you will be escorted to your rental vehicle, provide a thorough orientation, and address any queries you may have. Once you're ready, the safari adventure kicks off!
Today's journey takes you north for about three hours to Okonjima Private Game Reserve. This luxurious lodge not only offers comfort but also boasts diverse wildlife. You'll take a moment to unwind before an afternoon "leopard tracking" expedition, offering up-close encounters with these magnificent predators. You'll conclude the day with a delightful dinner, marking your first night in Namibia.
For those seeking more adventure before your departure the next morning, the lodge offers various optional excursions, including game drives and on-foot tracking of rhinos or pangolins at an additional cost.

AfriCat Foundation (okonjima) to Eastern Etosha National Park
Today, just after breakfast you will drive approximately four hours northeast to reach one of Africa's largest national parks, renowned for its expansive saltpan and diverse wildlife. Around three hours into your trip, you'll arrive at the charming town of Tsumeb, offering optional stops like the Art & Craft Center showcasing local crafts, and the Tsumeb Museum for those interested in the town's history.
Mushara Lodge is about an hour's drive northwest, and sits on the outskirts of Etosha National Park, providing panoramic views of the landscapes and splendid gardens. You'll take the opportunity to unwind with a refreshing dip in the pool or partake in various lodge activities.
In the afternoon and the following day, you can choose to explore Etosha National Park, uncovering its treasures, diverse wildlife, and stunning landscapes.
Please take note that the park gates open at sunrise and close at sunset and all visitors must be out by sunset.

East Etosha National Park to Kavango Region
During today's journey, you will drive south, then northeast for about four and a half hours, to reveal your first glimpse of the Zambezi Caprivi Strip. Optionally, you'll stop in the town of Grootfontein, renowned for the Hoba Meteorite —one of Earth's largest. Another option, within walking distance from your destination for the night, is the Mbunza Living Museum, serving as a traditional school and business hub for the locals.
Nestled on the Cubango River, bordering Angola, Hakusembe River Lodge boasts green lawns, trees, and thatched chalets. Immerse yourself in peace by the flowing river and the melodies of birds, or relax in the pool. In the afternoon, savor your first sunset boat cruise, marveling at the aquatic world.
Optional activities like morning boat cruises for bird enthusiasts and fishing excursions can be arranged for an additional cost.

Okavango River
You will continue with your journey east into the Zambezi for approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive, arriving at Riverdance —a hidden paradise on the banks of the Okavango River. You'll unwind, relish the scenic views from decks and bungalows, and savor culinary delights along with refreshing beverages.
You'll partake in sunset boat cruises, immersing yourself in the diverse wildlife and splendid birds. On the second day, you will go on a full-day guided game drive through Bwabwata National Park, the country's second-largest park boasting a varied ecosystem and serving as a wildlife migration corridor. On your last morning, you'll enjoy another morning boat cruise before your departure.
Riverdance Lodge offers an array of activities, including a cultural village tour, an island nature walk, and soothing bush spa treatments that can be arranged at an additional cost.

Okavango to Mudumu National Park
In the morning, you'll drive approximately two hours and thirty minutes east to reach the small settlement of Kongola, where basic facilities like a shop and fuel station are available. From there, you'll head south for another approximately forty minutes to reach your destination.
Lianshulu Bush Lodge is a private concession inside Mudumu National Park, situated on the banks of the Kwando River. The viewing deck and veranda offer the opportunity to admire a thriving river wonderland and savannah plains teeming with abundant life.
During your stay, you'll engage with the locals on a cultural village Visit, experiencing their traditional way of life. The next day promises a rich encounter as you explore Mudumu National Park on a guided game drive. Home to a large elephant population and diverse wildlife, the park also boasts a bird population of over four hundred different species.
Optional activities like nature walks, boat cruises, and night drives can be arranged at an extra cost.

Mudumu National Park to Zambezi River
This morning, you'll commence your journey to the final destination. After a forty-minute drive back to Kongola, you'll head east for an estimated one hour and thirty minutes to reach Zambezi Mubala Lodge. Upon arrival, the welcoming staff will greet you before you embark on a boat cruise to the lodge.
Nestled on the banks of the magnificent Zambezi River, the Zambezi Mubala Lodge is a haven boasting over 450 bird species, including one of the largest carmine bee-eater colonies. Observe hippos leisurely lounging in the water, crocodiles taking a nap on the riverbanks, and playful monkeys in the trees. You will unwind at the open bar before indulging in an afternoon sunset boat cruise. The next morning, choose between a morning or afternoon boat cruise to explore the wonders of the Zambezi River.
The lodge offers optional activities such as fishing, guided walks to the bird colonies, and an excursion to Victoria Falls at an additional cost.

Departure
Your self-drive safari adventure in Namibia concludes today as you make your way for approximately fifty minutes westward to Katimo Malilo Airport. We suggest arriving at least ninety minutes before the 1:10 pm departure time where one of our friendly staff will meet you to do the vehicle handover and assist with the check-in process. A one-hour and thirty-minute flight will then transport you back to Eros Airport in Windhoek for your onward journey home.
