Drive to Nyerere NP and Full-day Game Drive

You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 4:00 am for a scenic 4–5 hour drive to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy breakfast before starting your morning game drive, where you may spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. Around midday, take a break for lunch inside the park, then continue with an afternoon game drive exploring different areas and watching animals near rivers and waterholes. In the evening, you’ll head to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Full-Day Game Drive

You will indulge in a hearty breakfast to kickstart your day before embarking on an unforgettable journey into the vast expanse of the Nyerere National Park (Selous). You will be greeted here by many elephants, majestic buffaloes, a pride of lions, graceful giraffes, striped zebras, and beautiful impalas. Selous is renowned for its high population of African wild dogs, surpassing any other national park in Tanzania.

During the day, you will pause for a picnic lunch, savoring delicious food from a safe vantage point. Here, you can soak in the breathtaking scenery while keeping a keen eye out for wildlife in their indigenous habitat.

Your journey will then bring you back to the lodge around 5:00pm. A delectable dinner awaits, and an overnight stay ensures you are ready for more incredible adventures tomorrow.

Maasai Visit & Departure

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you’ll check out and begin your drive back toward Dar es Salaam. On the way, you’ll make a special stop at a Maasai village, where you’ll spend some time learning about the fascinating Maasai culture and traditions. You’ll be welcomed by the villagers with their traditional songs and dances, and you’ll have the chance to interact with them, explore their homesteads, and learn about their daily way of life.

After this enriching cultural experience, you’ll continue your journey back to Dar es Salaam, enjoying the scenic drive through the countryside. Upon arrival in the city, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport, marking the end of your safari adventure.
