Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will go through the immigration process, which typically takes between thirty minutes to two hours, depending on your arrival time. After exiting through arrivals, you will meet a representative from Hooves of Africa Safaris for a brief meet and greet. You will then be transferred to your guesthouse in Entebbe for an overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

Entebbe - Mabamba Swamp - Lake Mburo National Park
You’ll be picked up from the guesthouse at 6:40am and drive to the Nakiwogo landing site, where we will take a motorized boat to the wetlands. The transfer takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the wetlands, we will switch to a smaller boat that is more convenient for maneuvering through the area and begin our quest to find the prehistoric shoebill. After sighting the shoebill, we will transfer to the equator for a hot lunch and then proceed to our next destination, Lake Mburo. If time permits, we will enjoy an evening game drive, with an optional night game drive to spot leopards. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the edge of the park.

Walking safari and transfer Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After your walking safari, where you have the opportunity to connect with nature in a closer, more intimate, and immersive way, you will continue driving southwards and have lunch en route through the farmlands of Ankole. Keep an eye out for the long-horned cattle and farmers carrying or cycling with bananas (matoke) to the markets. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the edge of the forest.

Gorilla tracking
After a 7:00am breakfast, you will have a short drive to the UWA briefing center, where you will be instructed on the do’s and don’ts of gorilla tracking. Once you have been allocated a gorilla family in a group of eight people, you will be led by armed ranger guides into the forest to search for the gorillas. When the gorillas are located, you will have one full hour to observe them from a distance of 7-10 meters as they go about their daily lives. After gorilla tracking, we will drive back to the lodge to change and prepare for a community walk. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Transfer to Ishasha Sector (Tree climbing Lions)
After breakfast, drive from Bwindi to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is undoubtedly Uganda’s most visited park, and the Ishasha sector is famous for its tree-climbing lions. This day is dedicated to exploring the vast plains of Ishasha. Keep an eye out for elephant herds, Topi herds, buffaloes, and Kobs, among other wildlife. Dinner and your overnight stay will be in the Ishasha sector.

Morning game drive and transfer to Kasenyi for Kazinga boat cruise
After breakfast, you will have a final game drive as you depart to the northern section of the park. Check in at your lodge, have a hot lunch, and prepare for the afternoon community boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to discover more about this park. The Kazinga Channel is famous for its hippo population, which is said to be the highest on the African continent. Other wildlife can be sighted here, including African elephants, Cape buffalo, waterbucks, a variety of birds, and reptiles like the Nile crocodile. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the edge of the park.

Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale
After breakfast, you will embark on a final game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park before driving to Kibale Forest National Park. After lunch, you will drive towards Fort Portal town, where, if time allows, you can enjoy a drive around the crater lakes. The craters are part of the beautiful scenery of the region, and a walk to the top of the world is an experience that will blow your mind away. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the edge of Kibale Forest.

Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi community Tour
After breakfast, you will drive to Kanyanchu to join others for a briefing before heading into the forest with rangers in search of chimpanzees, following their calls and tracks. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend one hour with them, learning more about their behavior and habits.
In the afternoon, you will take a walk in the famous Bigodi Wetlands, a community project aimed at improving the lives of the local communities. Look out for olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, various bird species, and enjoy a cultural encounter with the local communities. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Scenic road trip to Murchison Falls
After breakfast, we will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, starting with a tour to the top of the falls and ending the day with a game drive. There is also an optional night game drive to experience the park under the stars and see the other side of wild Africa after dark. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the edge of the park.

Morning game drive and scheduled Nile Boat cruise
After breakfast at 6:30am, we will head out for a game drive in search of cats that might still be busy with a kill or avoiding the wet grass. Keep an eye out for leopards, elephants, Cape buffalo, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, and more.
In the afternoon, we will take a shared boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, searching for animals that come to drink and cool off on the banks of the Nile River, such as elephants, waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, hippos, and many bird species. After your boat cruise on the mighty Nile River, you will have another game drive before heading back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Rhino walking Safari
After breakfast, we will transfer to the Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, where you will have the opportunity to track rhinos on foot with the help of armed rangers who will guide and protect you throughout the experience. After a hot lunch, we will drive to Entebbe for an overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Optional Activities
We will pick you up from the guesthouse and transfer you to Jinja, the adventure city of Uganda. Since this is a full-day excursion and most activities start as early as 8:30am (local time), we will depart as early as 7:00am, or even earlier, to avoid the Kampala traffic.
Alternatively, you can choose to spend this optional day in Entebbe, engaging in activities such as visiting the open markets or exploring the botanical gardens. This will conclude your tour.
