Pickup And Drive to Nyungwe National Park Depending on Your Arrival Time

Depending on the time you arrive, we shall pick you up and drive to south west of the country-to Nyungwe forest national park. This park is well known for Chimpanzee tracking in the area. While driving to Nyungwe national park, a chance bound for landscape viewing, spoting a few things like birds and other mammals like monkeys and a few more.

Chimpanzee Tracking Day

After Breakfast, carry picnic lunch and report to the park headquarter for briefing prior Chimpanzee tracking activity, go for tracking onwards with with the park guides, for those with trekking health issues, will be accompanied with porters. This park has only two groups of chimpanzees that are habituated for tracking one with a family of about 30 individuals and the second with 60 individuals. Depends on the time you get back buth the activity can take between two to 8hours. You rest at the lodge for the rest hours of the day at the lodge.

Transfer to Volcanoes Gorilla National Park

After breakfast, drive on our pace and transfer to the north west section of the country to Volcanoes Gorilla National Park with limited stops on the way to scan around for anything intersting. Volcanoes national park is a stop centre for all Rwanda gorilla safaris sheltering the highest number of mountain gorillas in the Virunga Conservation area. Retire at the lofge this evening.

Gorilla Tracking Day

Volcanoes national park is part of the great Virunga volcano conservation region spanning to cover Virunga National Park Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. It was initially a small area around Karisimbi, Mikeno and Visoke volcanoes which was gazetted to protect the Mountain gorillas which were facing the threat of extinction as a result of poaching. In addition to mountain gorillas, Volcanoes national park is home to golden monkeys, Spotted Hyena, buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duiker, and bushbuck. The park also harbors 178 bird species including at least 29 endemics to Rwenzori mountains and the Virungas. Tracking takes between three to eight hows before we return to our lodge for overnight.

Drive Back to Kigali

Morning leisurely after breakfast, we drive back to kigali to end our tour. Lunch break in the city. Evening outbound flight back home.
