Day 1

Your guide will pick you up from Kigali and proceed through the Katuna border to the fascinating scenery of Kabale with rolling hills adorned with terraces to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will reach Bwindi in the evening and check in at your lodge.

You can also choose to use Entebbe Airport. You will be fascinated by the traditional drum makers, a photographic moment at the Equator in Kayabwe is ideal and the Ankole long-horned cattle near Mbarara town. With a lunch stop in Mbarara at the Las Vegas Garden Hotel. You'll proceed further southwest through the fascinating scenery of Kabale with rolling hills adorned with terraces. In the same way, you'll reach in the evening and check in at your lodge.

Day 2

Early in the morning, you'll check out to report to the park headquarters with a picnic lunch for a briefing by the senior park ranger guide. After the briefing, you will be assigned a group with a ranger guide. You'll enter the forest and enjoy its beauty and freshness being home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorillas. You'll proceed through the dense vegetation to trek for these endangered primates depending on where they built their nest the previous night. For conservation purposes, the time allowed with the gorillas is one hour. You'll observe the gentle giants as they feed, groom the young, make love, and play. You'll then drive to Queen Elizabeth Nation Park to catch an evening game drive and an overnight stay.

Day 3

After an early morning breakfast and check out, you'll take a 6:30 am game drive to catch up with the early raisers like leopards, lions, and spotted hyenas among others. As you take the Kasenyi trail, look out for buffalos, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, topis, kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and bush duikers among others. Also, you can expect birdlife including the martial eagle, the woodland kingfisher, the great blue turaco, and the grey plantain eater among the 606 species recorded in the park. You'll return to the lodge for a late breakfast. After lunch, you'll go for the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This is home to a variety of water birds including the African fish eagle, the African skimmer, pelicans, pre-historic looking shoe bill, and on a hot day, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks can be sighted. Crocodiles are common residents and are regularly spotted along the channel banks. This will start your late drive to Kibale N Park for an overnight.

Day 4

After an early morning breakfast, you'll report to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing by the senior park guide. You'll proceed to track man’s closest relative of all the apes in this vast forest. You are likely to encounter other primates like olive baboons, bonobos, red colobus, black and white colobus, red and blue monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabey among others as well as a wide diversity of birds. If time allows, you may take an optional swamp walk in Bigodi which awards you with various bird species and some animals. You'll retire for an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5

You will check out at the lodge after breakfast as you drive back to Kampala through Mubende. You will proceed for an en-route lunch in Mityana or Kampala depending on where the time for lunch will find you. Then, you'll transfer the lodge to Kampala/Entebbe or to the airport arriving in time for your departure.
