Day 2

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

You will be picked from your hotel at 7:30am after early breakfast and start off your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy a panoramic drive past small towns, roadside markets, plantations, traditional homesteads and so much more. Make your first stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. This may last from 1 to 2 hours depending on the location of the rhinos. Ziwa Rhinos Sanctuary is the only home of Uganda’s rhinos in the wild. Your visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary means you will have contributed toward the conservation of the endangered rhino species.
After tracking the rhinos, you will have lunch and then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in at your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

The morning game drive starts at 6:30am, where you will roam the park for 2-3 hours in search of your safari favorites. Expect to see lions, elephants, bushbucks, giraffes among others. Return to the lodge to refresh, have breakfast and then wait for lunch. After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the "Devil's Cauldron". En-route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob and much more. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.
Disembark from the boat to hike to the Top of the falls (approx. 1 hour). See where the Africa's longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Transfer to the Coffee farm in Kyenjojo

Transfer to the Coffee farm in Kyenjojo

After early breakfast, start of your journey to Kyenjojo for the ultimate coffee experience. Enjoy the drive through the scenic country side. Depending on the time, you will have either lunch en route or at the lodge upon arrival. The coffee lodge is the perfect place to stop and pause before proceeding to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee tracking. Upon arrival in the evening, may take a walk around the farm and catch the beautiful sunset. The lodge is surrounded by the peace of nature. Guests can relax with a cup of coffee and take in the view, read a book, roll out a yoga mat on the balcony or enjoy some moments to paint. Have dinner and rest.

Day 5

Coffee Tour

Coffee Tour

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the forests, follow the trails to see ancient trees and bamboo forests; hear and see birds, butterflies and other pollinators. You may be lucky to stumble across Ugandan primates. Watch the farm come alive as locals from the neighboring villages come to work. Following a lunch of local food, you can then do the coffee farm experience with a guided tour from the farm manager. Learn how coffee is grown and how food is grown. In the evening, you will enjoy a farm-to-fork dinner and feel rested from the agri-tourism experience in rural Uganda. The coffee farm supports hundreds of local coffee out growers to improve their livelihoods. Your visit to the farm means you will have contributed to this course.

Proceed to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking

After breakfast, you will check out and proceed to Kibale for Chimpanzee tracking. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat is an equally rewarding experience. Chimpanzee tracking lasts for 2-3 hours depending on the movement of the chimps. Check in at your booked accommodation for overnight stay. Relax at the lodge as you enjoy the lodge facilities until dinner time.

Wake up to an early morning cup of coffee before starting off your morning game drive. The 3 hour game drive takes you on a search for your safari favorites. Return to the lodge, have breakfast, refresh and relax as you wait for lunch. Later in the afternoon, after lunch, you will go for the scenic crater drive. This drive affords you the opportunity to explore Queen Elizabeth National Park at leisure. The park’s landscape is poked by dozens of craters many of which are field with water to form crater lakes. During the drive you will visit L. Katwe to have a demonstration of how salt was produced by locals during ancient times. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy the lodge facilities as you spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas, then after you will be taken to the starting point for tracking your allocated gorilla family in Bwindi Forest. Each gorilla family is assigned to a group of not more than eight trekkers and that is why it is recommended that you book your gorilla permit in advance. This trek starts at 8:00am and may take from 40 minutes up to 6 hours depending on how far the mountain gorillas have moved into the forest. Gorilla trekking can be a bit strenuous and as such requires a certain level of fitness. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed that one precious hour to observe the gorillas. Take photos as well as audio and visual recordings.

Bushwalk and Homestead visit

Early morning, you will go for the bushwalk but with an armed game ranger. Nature walks are a magical way to experience the bush. They allow you to notice smaller details often overlooked when in a car or riding a horse. Nature walks also afford you the chance to view a variety of birds and mammals, most commonly herbivores, up close. Return to the lodge to rest and then after lunch you can go visit a traditional homestead. Activities include learning about the Ankole long- horned cows with an opportunity to try your hand at milking, understand the ghee making process, taste milk and much more. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up and go for the morning game drive in L. Mburo National Park. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. Start off your journey back to Entebbe. Make a stopover at the equator markings to stretch a bit, take photos and buy for yourself some souvenirs. Have lunch en route and proceed to Entebbe where you will be dropped off at your booked accommodation.
