From Johannesburg, you catch a domestic flight to Richards Bay, where our friendly driver will pick you up and transfer you to the lodge. The transfer is about 2.5 hours and takes you through the heart of northern Zululand.
When you arrive at your lodge, you will be welcomed and orientated around the lodge and your room before being whisked away on your first game drive, followed by dinner under the stars.

Nestled in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, Phinda differs from your ordinary safari destination. Here, the Big Five roam freely through the landscape, and the sunsets paint the skies with vibrant hues that will leave you breathless. It’s a place where the untamed meets luxury and where every bush whispers secrets of untold wildlife encounters.
Picture yourself in an open-top Land Rover, the wind in your hair, and the African sun warming your skin as you traverse the lush savannas and dense forests. Elephants march gracefully, lions cast their majestic gaze, and rhinos graze without a care, all while their beauty and charisma spellbind you.
Your safari includes a morning on the beach where the Indian Ocean bathes you in her 26°C (79°F) water. Optional extras include a private vehicle and guide, walking safaris, birding safaris, a sleepout in the bush, local Zulu tours and turtle nesting adventures from November to February each year. Anything you want, we will do!

Leave or go to Kruger Park

The safari includes a transfer back to Richards Bay and a flight back to Johannesburg. However, if you want to add on a safari to Kruger National Park, we can arrange a charter flight from Phinda, which will take you directly to Kruger Park and the start of another adventure. Rates for this add-on are available on request.
