Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, we will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater and, upon arrival, descend over 600m toward the crater floor. The crater is a breathtaking natural wonder and supports a diversity of animals due to its all-year-round water and food supply.
The resident animals include herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, hippo, African elephant, eland, and warthog. The park is unique due to its dense population of predators such as lions, jackals, cheetahs, hyenas, and the mysterious, rarely spotted leopards.
On the southwest corner of the crater lies Lake Magadi, a large, shallow, alkaline lake described as one of the main features of the crater. This lake is home to hippos, large numbers of flamingos and many other waterbirds.
Later in the evening, we will return to Arusha, and you will be transferred to the airport.
