After your early breakfast, you will drive for 20 minutes to reach your chimpanzee tracking point for an exceptional encounter with man’s closest living relative with whom we share about 99% DNA. You will be led by the UWA guides who understands the forest very well as you search for these great apes. After they have been sighted, you will be allowed to view them for one hour as they go on with their daily lives. We recommend you carry some drinking water, quick snacks and off course this being a tropical rain forest, you must carry your rain gear. After the encounter with chimpanzees, we drive back to the lodge for a hot lunch.
Afternoon, we take a boat cruise on Kazinga channel famous for high density of hippos and to discover more about the water species or meet those that come to relax or drink water in the afternoon. We use the katunguru community boat to support the local communities who are guides and local fishermen. Dinner and overnight at the edge of Kazinga channel.
