Pick up from Kampala and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast. Then, we will depart from Entebbe or Kampala by road and head southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We will briefly stop at the Equator for an informative talk and some great photo opportunities and then continue to Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch, we will travel through the rolling green hills of banana and tea plantations on our way to the national park. We will have dinner and stay overnight at your choice of accommodation.

Drive time: 8 - 10 hours.
Meal plan: Lunch and dinner.
Accommodation options: Depends on room availability and gorilla permit allocation at time of booking.
Budget: Buhoma Community Camp or Broadbill Forest Camp.

Gorilla Trekking Safari

In the early morning, after having breakfast and packing your lunch, you will need to report to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park officials. You will then trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas, which can take anywhere from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. The landscape is steeply forested and incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing tourists access. You will be allowed one hour with the gorillas for photography and observation as they play, feed, and groom. After that, you will have dinner and stay overnight as before.

Transfer Back to Kampala

After an early breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your evening flights. This day is reserved for evening flights through Entebbe International Airport or for arranging a post-night stay in either Kampala or Entebbe. If you request a post-night stay, please let us know in advance. This marks the end of the safari.
