You'll arrive at Entebbe Airport where one of our staff will pick you up. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight. On the way to the hotel, you will enjoy the best look at Ugandan cool weather, nice and beautiful scenes, and friendly and jolly people. You will sleep in Hotel Africana before you embark on the safari journey the following morning.

Day 2

Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After Breakfast, you'll proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Your lunch will be enjoyed at Masindi Hotel. As you cross into the park, you will pass through lowland jungle before traveling up and over a side shoot of the Great Rift Valley, before plunging into the Nile Valley and rolling savanna lands. You will make a stop at the top of the famous Murchison Falls, where the entire Nile is forced through a six-meter gap in a pounding fury, before spilling out into a more placid flow at the bottom. You will spend the night near the Nile, where the laughing of hyenas, the roar of lions, and the grunting of hippos will thrill you to the core. Your overnight stay will be at your hotel. Transit time is 4-5 hours.

Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park

An early start in the morning for a game drive encompassing elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, and a huge variety of other wildlife. Later on, you will take a boat ride up the river to the bottom of Murchison Falls, where you will see, floating crocodiles and pods of hippos intersperse with some of the best bird viewing in the world. From the safety of the boat, you can see crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and other animals on the shores of the Nile. Your overnight stay will be at your accommodation.

You will depart Murchison Falls after an early breakfast. You'll head for Fort Portal, the area where Semliki and Kibale Forest National Parks are situated. You'll have lunch en route. On arrival, you will check in at your hotel for an overnight stay. On your way, you will have a simple game drive as you pass through Budongo forest which will be rewarded by wildlife.

Day 5

Semuliki National Park

Semuliki National Park

You'll have an early morning breakfast, drive to Bundibugyo, and enjoy the morning fog on the way. This is as a result of the rift valley. Later, you'll check in at the park offices where you are to meet the park guides and set out to trek the Sempaya Hot Springs trail. Watch out for monkeys and birds along the trek. The springs eject boiling geysers 2 meters into the air. The pool boils at 103 degrees and to experiment with the hotness of the water you will place eggs or bananas in the boiling water and indeed within 10 minutes they will be ready to eat. After returning from the Hot Springs trek that will last at least 2 hours, you will be taken back to your hotel for lunch as you wait to hike the hills of Fort Portal starting at Amabere caves. You'll relax in the evening and enjoy Fort Portal's nightlife.

Get your walking shoes on as we move through the bush and jungle to spend time with our fascinating relatives. You'll watch them swing through the trees or move quickly across the ground in front of us. The park is home to 12 species of primate. The primates include chimps; black and white Colobus monkeys; blue monkeys, black-faced red Colobus, red-tailed monkeys; olive baboons, and an incredible array of bird life, including the great blue turaco. Lunch will be at the lodge and in the afternoon you can take an optional nature walk around the park/Bigodi wetland or relax by the lodge.

You'll have an early game drive in the park with high expectations of seeing lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, elephants, antelopes, and the elusive giant forest hog in this park. In the afternoon, you will take a unique boat ride on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The area is believed to be the biggest hippo concentration in Africa. You will be entertained by amazing hippos usually in interesting pools and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. In the afternoon after lunch, you'll take a boat ride on the lake to visit some of the 29 islands on the Lake. For bird lovers, the Bunyonyi environs are uniquely endowed with the resident African harrier hawk, yellow-backed, spectacled weavers, levillant, etc.

After an early breakfast at 5:30 am, you'll depart to the park headquarters. One group will go to Ruhija, another one to Nkuringo, and another one to Shongi. You'll go for a briefing from park ranger guides before starting your gorilla trek through steeply forested and beautiful landscapes along several animal trails. The climax of the adventure is the opportunity to view the gentle and endangered mountain gorillas which is an exciting and memorable experience. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en-route. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your hotel.

After breakfast, you will depart for a full-day canoe trek and bird-watching on the lake and cross to the Kyabahinga peninsula. There, when school is in session, you will be treated to a super-cute singing and dancing presentation by the pupils. At a trading center above the school, you will be invited to a cup of the local brew, “obushera”. It will be unforgettable. As you climb the slopes of Kyabahinga, you will encounter all kinds of plants and views of the lake. You'll look out for endemic birds resident here in Lake Bunyonyi; handsome francolin, dusky turtle dove, alpine chat, etc.
At the top of the hill Omugurusi Jeremiah, a traditional healer, will be waiting for us. He is a well-known herbalist who will share with you some carefully chosen secrets of our tropical highland flora. You'll also visit the Africa Explorer Cultural Village some 2300 m above sea level. After lunch, you'll visit the local craft-making projects as you cross back to the mainland for your overnight stay.

We will drive through twisted and winding roads, and lake-dotted countryside, before emerging onto the lower thorn and savannah scrub lands of Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo National Park has markedly different fauna from other parks and reserves, the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, acacia, and associated birds. The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. In the afternoon, you'll take a boat ride at Lake Mburo, which gives great opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and a lot of beautiful birds. Your overnight stay will be at your lodge.
