Serengeti

Serengeti

After breakfast, you will make your way to Serengeti National Park for a full-day game drive and a picnic lunch. A million wildebeest, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfill their instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life. They participate in a frenzied 3-week bout of territorial conquests, mating and the survival of the fittest as they plunge in 40km-long (25 miles) columns through crocodile-infested waters on their annual exodus north. After a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily, the 1,000km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.

Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)

Day 5

Lake Manyara to Arusha

Lake Manyara to Arusha

You will depart from the lodge at 8:30 am after breakfast, carrying a hot picnic lunch, and head towards Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara, stretching for 50km at the base of the rusty-gold 600-meter high Rift Valley escarpment, is a picturesque wonder. Ernest Hemingway once called it "the loveliest I had seen in Africa". The game-viewing circuit through Lake Manyara is compact and offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. Starting from the entrance gate, the road winds through a lush jungle-like groundwater forest where baboon troops lounge nonchalantly. Blue monkeys scamper nimbly between ancient mahogany trees, bushbuck tread warily through the shadows and outsized forest hornbills honk cacophonously in the high canopy. After this enriching experience, return to Arusha, marking the conclusion of your unforgettable tour.
