Sossusvlei

Sossusvlei

Upon arrival, you will be met by one of our Safari365 representatives. From Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH), you will take a private light aircraft flight (1 hour 10 minutes) over the Khomas Hochland and Naukluft Mountains, descending to Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert.

On the way, you will enjoy an aerial view of Sossusvlei, revealing an endless sea of copper-and-ochre sand dunes stretching to the Skeleton Coast and the Atlantic Ocean.

When you're there and after settling in, there is a sundowner drive on day of arrival. Plants and birds are the dominant life form and they support a tiny world of mammals, reptiles and insects that, in the absence of coastal fog, seldom wander far from the river course and its pans. Star dunes with up to five crests rise 300m into the air and rank among the biggest in the world.
