Your classic Tanzania safari starts in Arusha, the entry point for safaris in northern Tanzania. After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your local Safari365 driver guide (who will accompany you for the next week) and be transferred via road to your Arusha hotel, located in the heart of the town. Relax and spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the offerings of the accommodation or exploring the lively markets of Arusha or nearby coffee plantations.

An early start awaits you as you embark on your epic safari with an abundance of wildlife. Drive through the Maasai Steppe until you start winding your way up the Great Rift escarpment. From the top, the views down to Lake Manyara and the distant Tarangire National Park are phenomenal; you now know you are in Africa! A short while later, you will check into your hotel on the outskirts of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, trees tower above your head, and the air is crisp. Settle into your hotel and explore the grounds in anticipation for your next day!

Day 3

An early start to the day will see you winding up dirt roads to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, and descending down to the Crater Floor for a full day on safari.

This famous crater is the world’s largest intact, collapsed volcano. It is a wilderness paradise, sporting abundant wildlife and the big-5. It is home to over 25,000 large animals and it is not rare to see big cats and elephants within minutes. Enjoy the multitude of colours and patterns of pink flamingos, spotted cheetahs, and striped zebras. Watch antelope grazing, elephants blowing clouds of dust, and predators stalking.

At dusk, return to your lodge and regale stories to your fellow travellers.

Day 4-5

Serengeti

A short drive will see you at the Lake Manyara airstrip, where a charter plane will be waiting to whisk you to the Serengeti. You will touchdown at Serengeti airstrip and your guide will be waiting to take you to Simbavati Migration Camp, your home for the next 2 nights. This mobile camp is located on the open plains of the Serengeti and home to the Great Migration. As Simbavati Migration camp moves locations so as to be close to the Wildebeest herds, the camp will either be in the north on the Mara River (June through November) or in the south on the Ndutu Plains (December through March). Either location is incredible and will have over 2 million migratory animals in relatively close proximity. The camp itself is beautifully furnished, giving you a greater sense of being close to nature. The service is incredible and the camp is piped with hot water and has fully working bathrooms.

After breakfast, depart via road to the local airstrip and then take a light aircraft flight through to northern Tanzania to the Grumeti area. From here you will be transferred through to Simbavati Grumeti. This luxury lodge is nestled on the open plains within Tanzania's exciting northern safari circuit on this classic Tanzania safari. The breathtaking location allows you to be immersed in the heart of nature and blends seamlessly in the wild surroundings. In the evening sit down to culinary delights that showcase local flavours.

Over the next 2 days you will see phenomenal wildlife with many acacia dotted on the wide plains, with the Grumeti River. Spend time on the various activities or revel in daily safari drives, bush walks, a night game drive and also we recommend pre-booking spa treatments at the in-house spa. There is also a unique night game drive that you will enjoy on night 7 or 8. Night game drives allow you to observe noctural animals such as civet cats and porcupines and offers another layer of excitement. A picnic lunch is also included for one of the days to allow you an extended game viewing experience.
