Day 1

Upon your arrival at Kigali Airport, our Likana Safaris driver guide will greet you, and you'll embark on a guided tour of the rapidly developing neighborhoods of Kigali, which are reshaping the city's landscape. There's an option to visit the presidential museum, once the residence of two former Presidents of Rwanda, offering insights into the country's political history.

We'll traverse through the historic commercial and residential areas, with a significant stop at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, a poignant remembrance of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. After a lunch break, we'll journey to Musanze. If time permits, we'll explore the scenic Twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo, characterized by their deep blue waters framed by steep hills, towering waterfalls, and the distant silhouette of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you'll head to Kinigi park offices by 7:00 am. There, join other trekkers and meet your ranger guide for a briefing. At 8:00 am, set off to the trailhead outside the park. Trekking into the park offers scenic mountain views. Golden monkeys reside near the park's edge in bamboo forests, making for an easy trek. Watch them skillfully feed on bamboo leaves and possibly wander into nearby potato fields.
After an hour with these fascinating creatures, return to the trailhead and back to the lodge for lunch. Then, proceed to the border for clearance before heading to Bwindi.

Day 3

Following an early breakfast, you'll walk to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking guidelines. Then, you'll proceed to the gorilla trail, where tracking can last 2 to 8 hours. You'll spend at least an hour in the presence of these magnificent creatures. It's recommended to carry a packed lunch provided, as tracking duration varies. After this exhilarating activity, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before embarking on the Batwa cultural tour.

During the journey from Bwindi, we'll pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. While sightings aren't guaranteed, a visit to Ishasha is recommended for a chance encounter! Following the Ishasha game drive, continue to the Mweya Peninsula of Queen Elizabeth for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

Kazinga Channel boat cruise:
If time allows, join the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wildlife observation. You'll see crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and various bird species along the channel. After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Begin the day with breakfast before venturing to Queen Elizabeth National Park's renowned Kasenyi Plains. Nestled in the expansive savannahs of the Albertine Rift, it promises a thrilling wildlife encounter. Following this, explore Kalinzu Forest for chimpanzee tracking.
Later, proceed to Lake Bunyonyi, where you can enjoy various activities and unwind. While sightings of the "Big Five" aren't guaranteed, you may be fortunate enough to spot lions, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks, with leopards occasionally sighted, completing the "Big Four."
