Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You'll wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi by 7:00 am. You'll join other golden monkey trekkers and meet the ranger guide for a brief orientation about the activity and the park. At 8:00 am, you'll transfer to the trailhead just outside the park.
You'll enjoy stunning views of the mountain scenery as you begin your trek into the park to locate the golden monkeys. These monkeys inhabit the bamboo forests near the park's edge, where the terrain is relatively flat and easy to navigate. You'll observe the monkeys as they feed, skillfully picking young bamboo leaves from the tips of the trees, and sometimes venturing into nearby potato fields, a favorite of theirs.
After an incredible hour with the golden monkeys, you'll return to the trailhead and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, you'll head to the border and, after clearing customs, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.
You will check-in your lodge, for overnight stay.

Famous Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast, you'll walk to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don'ts of gorilla tracking. Following the briefing, you'll head to the gorilla trail. Gorilla tracking can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours or even a full day to find the gorillas. Once you encounter them, you'll have the opportunity to spend at least an hour in their presence.
It is recommended to carry a packed lunch, as the duration of the trek is unpredictable. Later, after lunch you'll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, driving through a scenic area often referred to as the 'Switzerland of Africa' due to its unique cool weather despite its proximity to the Equator.
Lake Bunyonyi is one of the most beautiful spots in western Uganda, known as the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) and one of the few places in the country safe for swimming, as it is free from bilharzia. You'll have dinner and spend the night at your lodge.
