Upon landing at Kigali Airport, you'll be greeted by a representative from Likana Safaris. As you depart from the vibrant city, you'll journey northwest through scenic hills and lively market towns, arriving at the picturesque Volcanoes National Park. Famous for Dian Fossey's groundbreaking gorilla research, this park will be your home for the next two nights. You'll stay at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, a cozy retreat with a beautiful garden, ideally situated near the park's entrance. Your first night will be spent at the Kinigi Guest House or a similar accommodation.

Keep an eye out for the unique tree-climbing lions, a rare sight in Africa, and be prepared to witness some of Uganda's largest elephant herds. You'll spend the night at Kazinga View Resort or a similar budget-friendly accommodation.

Besides chimpanzees, you may encounter red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, baboons, and vervet monkeys. The gorge is also a haven for birdwatchers, with species such as falcons, blue-headed bee-eaters, and African finfoots. After exploring Kyambura Gorge, you'll transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Overnight accommodation will be at Leopard Rest Camp or a similar budget option.

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

Start your final day with a unique horse safari in Lake Mburo National Park. This peaceful mode of exploration allows you to immerse yourself in nature without the noise of engines, offering a chance to observe more elusive wildlife. While riding, you might encounter eland, buffalo, and possibly even a rare leopard sighting. Commonly seen animals include warthogs, topis, impalas, duikers, bushbucks, waterbucks, and zebras, which often approach to investigate their striped 'cousins.' After this serene experience, return to the lodge for breakfast before heading to Entebbe International Airport for your departure.
