After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up and drive you to Akagera National Park, located in eastern Rwanda. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a nature walk before having lunch at Akagera Rhino Lodge. In the afternoon, embark on a canoe ride on Lake Ihema, where you'll encounter aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles, and spot various water birds such as the papyrus gonolek, shoebill stork, and African fish eagle. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Enjoy Game Drives and Boat Safaris at Akagera National Park
Begin your day with an early breakfast, and then depart to Akagera National Park. After checking in, embark on a game safari through the park's scenic landscapes, where you'll encounter lakes and hippo beaches. Look out for elephants, giraffes, herds of antelopes, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, big cats, and buffalo. Birdwatchers will also find this area rewarding. In the afternoon, proceed to the border for clearance and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines for gorilla trekking. Following the briefing, you'll embark on the gorilla trail. Trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours or more, but once you find the gorillas, you will spend about an hour observing these magnificent creatures. Be sure to carry the packed lunch provided, as the duration of the trek can be unpredictable. After your trek, you'll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, often called the 'Switzerland of Africa' due to its cool climate despite its proximity to the Equator. Known as one of the most beautiful spots in western Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest lake in Africa at 900 meters and is safe for swimming as it is free of bilharzia. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Lake Bunyonyi Activities and Transfer Back to Kigali
After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring its various islands. Then, head to the Katuna border to cross back into Rwanda. Upon arrival, embark on a Kigali city tour, beginning with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Explore notable city landmarks and browse the local craft markets. Finally, you will be transferred to Kigali Airport for your departure.
