First Gorilla Trekking in the Nkuringo Sector
After an early breakfast, you'll drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about what you should and shouldn’t do while with the gorillas. At this point, if you have any viral disease like flu you will be stopped from tracking the gorillas since they easily catch human diseases. You will then enter the forests with your guides, rangers, and researchers to track the gorillas. Once you reach a gorilla family, you are allowed an hour with them to take pictures, observe, and experience them while they carry on with their daily way of life. This is a one-life experience you cannot easily forget.
Meanwhile, after tracking, you will go back to the starting point for your gorilla certificate to prove that you penetrated the impenetrable forest. You will get into your car then drive to Rushaga Sector and prepare for other treks the following day.

Second Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Rushaga sector park headquarters for a briefing. From here, you are assigned a local ranger guide and you are divided into groups of eight trekkers, a maximum number of trekkers allowed to visit a gorilla family per day.
However, gorilla trekking takes about 1 to 6 hours of trekking into the impenetrable forest, depending on the movements of the apes or the speed of the trekkers. You will spend one magical hour in the presence of these apes, watching them carry on with their daily lives as you learn about them.
After trekking, you will drive back to your lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you will visit the Batwa community who were the first inhabitants of the impenetrable forest before they were resettled outside the park. You will enjoy traditional performances as you get close and personal encounters with the local people. Later, you'll return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
