You are very likely to spot the southern white rhino during your game drive as it rests near the lake. Among many members of the avian class that reside here, Lake Nakuru is particularly known for the flamingos that line its shores. A breathtaking view especially from afar. A good viewing spot is Baboon Cliff where you can view the entire park laid out below in the company of the primates the spot is named after. Heading Over To Maasai Mara
The second day of your safari will find you on the road soon after you have had your breakfast. Your journey leads you to the iconic Maasai Mara, the feature destination of this safari. Nakuru and Maasai Mara are a 3-to-4-hour drive apart on average. On your arrival, you will check in to Fairmont Mara Safari Club who will be providing accommodation for the length of your stay then have your lunch before finally heading out to the reserve for a game drive around Maasai Mara National Reserve. Surely Maasai Mara will not disappoint - being home to a great many animal species, there is always something to see. Perhaps on this day you will find a pride of lions on the hunt, or hyenas as they tear away at a wildebeest carcass. Eventually the reddish haze of sunset will blanket the savanna and both animals and plants will fall into stark contrast against the last rays of the setting sun providing a special golden-hour photo-op. As dusk falls you will go to the camp for dinner and to recharge.

Dawn Till Dusk in Maasai Mara
During your second day in Maasai Mara, the adventure begins just after you have had your breakfast. It will be time for your grand adventure where you get to explore the reserve until the sun sets. Your guide will make sure to visit the spots you did not have time to visit the previous day or take you back to a place that piqued your interest the day before. Be assured the reserve always has more to offer, maybe this game drive will finally check all the boxes for all the animals you wanted to spot in Maasai Mara. Being the second day, you must have already got to spot the famous big cats like the lion or the leopard the day before. This day might find you spotting a cheetah, better yet one on the hunt. A visit to the river can confirm this as among all the hippos swimming lazily in the river, another apex predator resides. You are likely to spot one by the shores lying still awaiting its catch for the day. After such an eventful day, a hot meal awaits you before retiring to bed.

Back to Nairobi
Alas, the end to the safari draws close. You will have your breakfast in the morning and leave Maasai Mara for Nairobi soon after. The journey back to Nairobi is 5 hours on average. On arriving in the city, you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back home, or at your hotel in case you still have things to take care of in the city or at your preferred drop-off location. In any way the safari ends, it will be at this point in which we part ways and perhaps you will join us on safari again some other day.
