After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (the entry point for safaris in northern Tanzania) take a light aircraft flight to Fort Ikoma airstrip adjoining the Serengeti National Park.
A lodge friendly staff member will meet you and transfer you to your luxury tented accommodation at Simbavati Grumeti. The camp is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including vast savannahs, acacia woodlands, and rolling hills.
Relax and spend the rest of the afternoon at the lodge, enjoying the amenities and taking in the incredible sights of the open plains before heading out on a night game drive. After breakfast depart via road transfer to Simbavati Migration Camp, located on the open plains of the Serengeti and home to the Great Migration.
This mobile camp moves twice annually (between the northern area of the Serengeti on the Mara River, to the southern Ndutu plains), so is always optimally placed to follow the Great Wildebeest migration.
The sensation of being amongst the migration is incomprehensible, and the plains are alive with action. With lots of wildlife, from lions and leopards to giraffes and elephants, you can fully immerse yourself in this incredible landscape. After breakfast, enjoy your last few hours in the Serengeti (there will be a morning game activity time permitting). Depart for the airstrip and fly back to Arusha with the incredible memories of your journey in Tanzania.
