Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing. The crater is a unique ecosystem, with a year-round supply of water and food that supports a diverse range of animals. As you explore the crater floor, you will encounter herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, and elands, as well as warthogs, hippos, and the iconic giant African elephants.
The Ngorongoro Crater is also known for its dense predator population. We will keep an eye out for lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopards. The crater offers some of the best opportunities to see these predators in action, whether they are hunting, resting, or interacting with other animals.
One of the highlights of your visit will be Lake Magadi, a large, shallow alkaline lake located in the southwestern part of the crater. Here, you can observe a variety of water birds, including flamingos, as well as hippos wallowing in the shallows.
