Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your lodge in Arusha, where you can settle in and refresh. Depending on your arrival schedule, you will have an opportunity to explore the lodge`s surroundings. In the evening, you'll have dinner and an overnight stay.

Arusha to Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

You'll transfer from the hotel to Marangu gate, and start your trek through the lush Montane Rainforest, filled with diverse flora and fauna. You will ascend from 1,860m (6,100ft) to 2,700m (8,858ft) over 8 km (5 miles) in 3-5 hours. You will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Mandara Hut, surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of the forest.

Trek from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

You will bid farewell to the rainforest and enter the Heath and Moorland zone. You'll trek 12 km (7.5 miles) from 2,700m (8,858ft) to 3,720m (12,205ft) in 6-8 hours. You'll enjoy panoramic views of the landscape, including glimpses of the Kibo Summit. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Horombo Hut.

After your hike to Zebra Rocks at 3,820m (12,533ft) for acclimatization, you'll get to experience the Alpine Desert environment with its unique geological formations. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Horombo Hut, providing a peaceful end to your day surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

Trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

You'll traverse the rocky Alpine Desert, ascending to 4,700m (15,419ft) over 9.5 km (5.9 miles). As you reach higher altitudes, you'll witness dramatic changes in the landscape and feel the increasing thinness of the air. Kibo Hut will serve as your base camp, where you'll prepare for the challenging summit attempt. Your overnight stay will be at Kibo Hut, surrounded by the majestic peaks of Kilimanjaro.
