Meaning "endless plain," the Serengeti spans 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers) and is home to over two million wildebeests. From January to April, the wildebeests give birth to their calves, joined by hundreds of thousands of plains zebras and Thomson's gazelles. This abundance of prey attracts large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The area also hosts a variety of smaller animals, including rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares, along with nearly 500 bird species. After an exhilarating game drive, you'll return to the Seronera campsite to relax and rest.

Serengeti National Park
You’ll dedicate the entire day to a thrilling game drive in the Serengeti. Your route will be determined by the location of the migrating herds, as predators typically trail closely behind them. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds travel from the northern hills to the southern plains. From April to June, the longer rainy season sees them returning north. The annual migration is influenced by rainfall, causing the herds' locations to vary yearly, but your guide will expertly track them down for the best wildlife viewing. Alongside wildebeests and zebras, you might spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. You'll spend another night camping in the Seronera area, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
