Amboseli; The Realm of Gentle Giants

Amboseli; The Realm of Gentle Giants

Your transfer driver will meet you at your accommodation or Nairobi airport for a brief introduction before taking you to Wilson Airport. From there, you’ll embark on a scenic 1-hour and 15-minute flight to Amboseli National Park.

Amboseli is renowned for its large herds of African elephants. The name "Amboseli" derives from a Maasai term meaning "salty dust," and it’s one of the best spots in Africa to view these magnificent animals up close. You’ll also have the chance to visit local Maasai communities to immerse yourself in their rich culture.

Upon arrival in Amboseli, you’ll be transferred to Tortilis Camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive, returning to camp before dusk to freshen up, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night. Alternatively, you can choose to relax and prepare for a full-day game drive the following day.

Left unharassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps must form the highlights of any safari. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch from the panoramic Amboseli Observation Hill, where you can get a clear shot of Mount Kilimanjaro when it's not cloudy.
