Lake manyara national park
Lake Manyara is one of the most underestimated national parks in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale, at once compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Rift Valley escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). You’ll see plenty of baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the treeclimbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. Thanks to the proximity of lake, forest and rock walls, the birdlife will also tease out your inner birder – don’t forget your binoculars.

Serengeti National park
Discover why so many safari visitors fall in love with the Serengeti. Keep an eye out for big cats, elephants, and a diverse array of safari wildlife. Giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and hundreds of bird species are common sightings, often before breakfast. Watching these animals interact is unforgettable, whether witnessing a hunt, a vast herd, or a mother protecting her young. The Serengeti’s iconic acacia trees, golden grasslands, and kopjes (great piles of boulders) offer an unforgettable scenery.

Central Serengeti national park
Start your day early with a cup of tea or coffee before heading out with a packed breakfast. Early morning is prime time for seeing predators, as they are most active during the night and early morning. Drive out of central Serengeti to the eastern areas, seeking cheetahs, lions on the rocks, and other wildlife. Enjoy a game drive until the early afternoon, then either return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or continue with a packed lunch. Conclude the day with a drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, seeing more lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and hyenas en route.

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, your safari guide will take you into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round supply of water and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area hosts a wide variety of animals, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, elk, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. The dense predator population includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. Visit Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the crater's southwest corner, home to flamingos, hippos, and other waterfowl. Enjoy a short walking safari near the hippo pool at Engutoku Tok before driving for lunch.
