Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will depart Amboseli National Park in the morning via Nairobi for lunch and drive to the Great Rift Valley viewing sceneries en route, arriving at the pink lake and proceeding with a game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the Rift Valley. The sight of at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink. Lake Nakuru National Park has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species —particularly the Rothschild giraffes and the black and white rhinos. Lions, waterbucks, buffalos, and baboons are all residents here.

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will depart the hotel soon after breakfast and drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in good time for lunch. After lunch, you will head out for an afternoon game drive. Masai Mara holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Masai Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and attendant predators.

You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopards, many kinds of antelopes, and elephants.

Besides experiencing the game drives, you will have time to enjoy the scenic view of the Great Rift Valley. It is in the Maasai Mara National Reserve that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.

In the evening, you'll visit the local Maasai village for a Maasai cultural tour. You'll learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local people. Your overnight stay at the Maasai village can be organized upon request.

Optional Activity at a fee: A balloon safari at USD 550 per person can be organized early morning.
