Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We'll pick you up from your hotel and introduce you to your tour guide and chef. Your journey begins with a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its diverse landscape dominated by ancient baobab trees and boasting the largest concentration of elephants in Tanzania. You'll have ample opportunities to witness the fascinating dynamics of elephant families during our game drive, guided by recent animal sightings. While herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras are plentiful, spotting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards requires a keen eye.

Later, you'll head to the Tarangire River picnic site to enjoy lunch with a picturesque view of the river and its wildlife. Playful monkeys and baboons may attempt to join you, but they pose no threat. After lunch, you'll continue your game drive until around 4:30 pm when you exit the park.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

The Ngorongoro Crater features diverse habitats supported by volcanic soil, offering the opportunity to witness the Big Five in just a day. Within the park lies Lake Makat (meaning Soda Lake in Masai), a sanctuary for numerous bird species.

The park is also renowned for its Masai communities residing in traditional circular bomas. Additionally, it is a significant site for exploring the history of human evolution, famously associated with the Leakey family.

Wildlife sightings typically include lions, buffalos, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, gazelles, jackals, foxes, wild dogs, eland, waterbuck, serval, and other ungulates. However, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, and elephants are rarely seen near the crater rim.
