Day 1

Your safari guide will pick you up and embark on the journey to Serengeti, providing lunch boxes for the 7- to 8-hour drive. As you depart from Arusha town and traverse the Maasai steppe, witness the ever-changing landscape minute by minute. Encounter Maasai people adorned in red, blue, or violet fabrics, tending to their cattle, and women fetching water with their donkeys.

Approximately 3 hours into the drive, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, transitioning into a natural setting where diverse wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, Cape buffaloes, gazelles, and waterbucks, becomes visible. With luck, you may even spot predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. Arrival in Serengeti is scheduled for the afternoon, allowing time for a game drive before heading to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before embarking on a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti, armed with lunch boxes for the day's adventure. Today is dedicated to exploring the realm of predators on the savannah plains, where lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, caracals, and serval cats roam. The picturesque plains are adorned with various antelope species such as gazelle, topi, hartebeest, waterbuck, zebra, and wildebeest. Serengeti boasts a rich avian population, with over 500 species of birds.

Following a satisfying lunch and an extensive game drive, your journey will continue. You will drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, your journey continues with a half-day game drive into the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. Descend about 600 meters into the crater, home to a rich concentration of African wildlife, including an estimated 30,000 animals like the elusive black rhino. The crater's year-round water and lush vegetation create a thriving habitat for various wildlife such as wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, and majestic African elephants.

The crater is also famous for its high number of apex predators like lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards. After a picnic lunch in the breathtaking surroundings, head to the karibu heritage hotel for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
