Your exciting moments will start today where you will fly from either Dar es Salaam airport or Zanzibar Airport to Nyerere National Park formally knows us Selous Game Reserve. The name of the Park is given in honor of the founder of the Nation, the Late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. With its largest wilderness area in Africa, Nyerere National park has relatively undisturbed ecological and biological processes, including diverse range of wildlife with significant predator and prey relationship. It is on this day where you will go for afternoon ride is perfect for game viewing and enjoying the sunset.
River Rufiji is both 100 meters wide and deep and it flows into the Indian Ocean. It has quite a number of tributaries that act as water holes for the animals during the dry season. Later you will go to your lodge for an evening leisure, dinner and overnight.

Full time drive at Nyerere National Park

With your packed lunch you will depart after breakfast and embark on a game drive heading to the northern sector of the reserve that is well known for having several birds’ species in the park. Walking safari and boat safaris on lakes and channels will lead you through to the birds like mangrove kingfishers, Boehm’s bee-eater, Livingstone’s flycatcher, green-caped eremomela, yellow-bellied bulbul, white helmet shrikes, wattle eyed flycatcher, red throated twin spot, grey-hooded kingfisher, black cuckoo-shrike, African skimmer, red-winged warbler, spotted flanked barbet, red-billed helmet shrike, pearl-spotted owl, palm-nut vulture, broad-billed roller, and animals closely where you will encounter several wildlife including elephant, buffaloes, wild dogs, bushbucks, lions, impalas, kudus, hippos, crocodiles in river Rufiji, giraffes among others.
Later head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
