Wake up to the breathtaking beauty of the Southern Serengeti and prepare for a full day immersed in the wonders of the calving season. This time of year, from late December to March, transforms the Ndutu Plains into a wildlife haven, as thousands of wildebeests give birth in perfect synchrony.

Spend the day traversing the open plains, where newborn calves take their first steps within minutes of birth—an incredible sight that highlights the resilience of nature. The abundance of vulnerable young attracts predators like lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards, creating thrilling predator-prey interactions.

With your expert guide, you’ll witness the drama and beauty of survival unfold right before your eyes, capturing unforgettable moments of life in the wild. After savoring an early morning meal, you will set off on an adventure to explore the Ngorongoro Crater in hopes of spotting the elusive black rhino. This breathtaking crater is often called Africa's very own "Noah's Ark" and is teeming with a variety of wildlife, including lions, hyenas, elephants, and more. You will pause for a midday meal at Hippo Lake before making your way back up to the crater rim for another wildlife drive. Following check-out, you will return to the lodge and then make your way to Kilimanjaro airport in time for your afternoon flight back to Zanzibar.
