Day 1

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will go through the emigration process which always takes between thirty minutes to two hours depending on your arrival time. Exiting through arrivals, you will meet a representative from Hooves of Africa Safaris for a short meet and greet. Then, you'll transfer to your guest house in Entebbe for the overnight stay on bed and breakfast arrangement.

Day 2

Transfer to Sipi Falls with Evening Sundowner

Transfer to Sipi Falls with Evening Sundowner

After breakfast, you will transfer to Sipi Falls for your first hiking adventure where you will explore the falls and get a chance to visit the local community coffee process farm for fresh coffee. Later in the evening, you'll head for a sundowner with your local guide.

After breakfast, you will have a short transfer from Sipi Falls to Pian Upe Game Reserve for your morning walking safari with an armed ranger guide. After the walk, you'll have your packed lunch and then drive to Moroto for the overnight stay. Pian Upe is the second largest conservation area and one of the few areas where you can find fox weavers.

After breakfast, you will drive to Kidepo Valley National Park through Matheniko Wildlife Reserve. If you love birds, this route has proven to be the best in the region with species from Kenya and some from Southern Sudan. You'll enjoy a slow drive as head to the park. You'll arrive at the lodge in time for a hot lunch and prepare for the evening game drive in the Narusi Valley of the park. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the edge of the park.

Full-Day Exploring Kidepo Valley National Park

An early breakfast will be served and head out to traverse the vast plains of Kidepo National Park. The park has abundant wildlife and is famous for its masses of buffalo herds that range from hundreds to thousands.

Apart from the Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, cheetahs have also been sighted in Kidepo though on rare occasions. Other wildlife to look out for include the African elephants, The cape buffalos’ herds and masses that can only be found here than anywhere else on the African continent, zebras, Jackson's hartebeests, Rothschild giraffes, elands, and many bird species such as Verreauxs eagle, Kori bastards, common ostrich, Karamoja Apalis that can be sighted in this park.

We will dedicate this day to game drives both morning and evening discovering several tracks in search of big game, and enjoying the beauty of Kidepo and her rugged blue mountains that make it perfect for photography, and capturing the memories. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the edge of the park.

After breakfast, you will drive to the community for our cultural encounter with the Karamojong's. You will learn how the community has evolved over the years, how they live in line with conservation, and how they live socially, economically, and politically. Later, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with lunch en route in Gulu town. If you love local food, here you will have another opportunity to taste food from the Acholi land and the people that live west of the Nile.

After breakfast (6:00 am) you will head out for a drive-in search of cats which might still be busy with a kill or running away from the wet grass. Watch out for leopards, elephants, cape buffalo, giraffes, baboons, monkeys etc.

In the afternoon, you will take a shared boat cruise to the bottom of the falls in search of animals that come to drink and cool off on the banks of the Nile River such as elephants, waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, hippos and many birds.

After breakfast, you will have a short game drive as you head out of the park. You'll drive further to the southern parts of Uganda with a hot lunch en route to Kibale forest. After check-in, you will take a walk in the famous Bigodi wetlands, a community project managed by the community aimed at changing and improving the lives of the host communities. Watch out for olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, bird species, and cultural encounters with the local communities. You'll have dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive to Kanyanchu to join others for briefing before you head to the forest with rangers in search of chimps following their calls and tracks. Once chimps have been located, you will spend one hour with them as you learn more about them.

After your hot lunch at the lodge, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, check-in and prepare for an afternoon boat community boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. On request, we can arrange a night game drive for better chances of sighting cats.

After the game drive, you will transfer to Bwindi. Depending on where your gorilla permits have been booked, you will have lunch en route and proceed for an overnight stay at the edge of the forest.

Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will have a short drive to the UWA briefing center where you will be taken through the dos, and don’ts while tracking gorillas. After you have been allocated a gorilla family in a group of 8 pax, you will be led by ranger guides off the forest to search for the gorillas. When gorillas have been located, you will have one full hour of viewing them as they go on with their daily lives at a distance of 7-10 meters. Later, you will transfer from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight stay. Look at our packing list for gorilla tracking.

There are optional Lake Bunyonyi activities offered at the lodge. Then, you'll transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with a hot rolex stop in Mbarara town. Uganda is famous for a variety of local dishes and the rolex is one of them! You will stop at the rolex both just in case you would like to taste the rolex. You'll continue to Sanga gate and check in at your accommodation. You'll have an evening game drive, dinner, and an overnight stay at the edge of the park.
