Entebbe to Kihihi

After you land at Entebbe international airport, you board a domestic flight to Kihihi. A representative from Sunset Adventures will welcome you at Kihihi Airstrip and drive you to Buhoma lodge. Enjoy the short scenic drive showcasing green village gardens, undulating post card like hills and the lake. Your Lodge is perched on a peninsula overlooking some picturesque small islands scattered across the water with the view of the the Virunga Ranges.

Tracking the mountain gorilllas

Wake up early and enjoy a delicious breakfast. A short drive to the National Park will get you briefed by the rangers and your gorilla tracking will start. Being in the presence of the rare and endangered mountain gorillas is an experience many speak of as life changing. Accompanied by a park ranger, you will track one of the nine habituated family groups who reside here. Your ranger will point out telltale signs of previous gorilla activity, like dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots. Depending on the location of the gorillas, on any given day the walk can take anything from 2 to 7 hours. Once you locate the gorilla family, you'll have an hour to experience their presence and return to receive your certificate and tell the story.

Fly to Entebbe

You will enjoy a delicious breakfast and board the car to Kihihi airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Experience the lush Ugandan countryside by air. You will arrive in Entebbe 1 hour and 15 minutes later full of awe and memories.
