Masai Mara-Olerai Consevancy
Olerai Conservancy was set up through the goodwill of tribal landowners to expand wildlife ranges and migration routes. The whole gambit of African wildlife is here and it now has the largest concentration of giraffes and eland in the local ecosystem. Giraffes are known locally as “cool tall guys” and Masai giraffes differ from other sub-species by their distinctive jigsaw puzzle splotched pattern. Lions and cheetahs move in and out of the territory but are often sighted since the Olerai plains are perfect hunting grounds. The reserve provides an elephant corridor and with lush marshland grasses, the elephants use it as a feeding ground as well as a dispersal area.
We can plan an optional visit to a Maasai village after breakfast. Alternatively, you can go on a hot air balloon ride at an extra cost.

Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha
After your delicious breakfast, you will depart with a morning game drive en route to Lake Naivasha, which is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rif Valley lakes. At 1910m (6200f), the water is fresh and the lake is fringed with dense clumps of papyrus (ancient Egyptians once used this to make paper). Kingfishers use the papyrus as a perch, herons hide in it while searching for food. Naivasha is yet another area popular for bird-watching (over 400 species have been recorded). It is also a favorite weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, who come here to sail, water ski, and fish. There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them, due to altitude but there are several hippos. Along the lakeshore, vineyards produce grapes for the country's fledgling wine industry.
