First Leg, the Highlands of Madagascar

Pick-up at your hotel or residence for the trip to Antsirabe, also known as the ‘Malagasy Vichy,’ via National Road 7. You will be greeted by the typical landscape of the Central Highlands, including rice terraces, green hills, and traditional red earth houses. You will stay overnight at Eco Lodge Les Chambres Du Voyageur with half-board included.

Day 2

Tanala Territory

Tanala Territory

After breakfast, we will depart for Ranomafana. We will take a short break in Ambositra to visit several Zafimaniry workshops and art shops specializing in woodcarving and statuettes. You will have free time for lunch. We will then continue to Ranomafana and check in at the hotel. In the evening, there will be a nocturnal walk along the road to discover nocturnal animal species. You will stay overnight with half-board at Hotel Thermal Ranomafana.

Day 3

The Gates of the South

The Gates of the South

In the morning, we will visit the Ranomafana National Park, which covers an area of 41,600 hectares (416 square kilometers). This park is one of Madagascar's flagship parks and is a must-see for all visitors due to its idyllic, verdant landscape, perfect for sheltering numerous animal species. Additionally, the park is home to thermal springs in the mountains, which is the reason behind its name, Ranomafana, which literally translates as 'hot water.' After visiting the park, we will head to Sahambavy. This stop will mark the end of our first leg in the highlands. Once we arrive, we will check in at Lac Hotel for an overnight stay on a half-board basis.

Day 4

Bara's Savannah

After a peaceful night on the lakeside, we will depart for Ranohira via the large town of Fianarantsoa. We will briefly visit the old town and then continue to Ambalavao. We will visit the Anja Community Reserve, where we can spot Madagascar's iconic lemur, the lemur catta known as 'makis.' It is recommended that you have a picnic lunch. We will then travel to Ranohira through the Ihorombe Plain. Welcome to the Bara territory! The landscape is composed of gigantic rocks laid in a magnificent golden savannah. They are rich in history, and we will learn how sacred these stones are for the Malagasy people. We will then check in at our hotel and have overnight accommodation on a half-board basis at Isalo Ranch.

Canyons and Caves

On this day, we will visit the Isalo National Park, known for its stunning natural formations. The Isalo massif features a beautiful mix of colors and terrains shaped by erosion. It includes grassy plains, grey stones, and striking ochre-red highlights, resembling a scene from a Western movie. The area is incredibly peaceful, with nature reclaiming its space in silence. We recommend having a picnic lunch during the visit. The difficulty level of the 4 to 6-hour walk is medium. We will return to the hotel and stay overnight at Isalo Ranch on a half-board basis.

Day 6

Vezo's Territory

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel and prepare to embark on the final stretch of the legendary Road National 7. Enjoy lunch in the vicinity of Toliara before proceeding to your ultimate destination via National Road 9. Explore the Reniala Reserve, where you will encounter the island's unique baobabs. Then, check in at the Vovo Telo Lodge, located along the beach, where you will be staying overnight on a half-board basis.

Upon arrival at the international airport, your guide will assist you with your onward flight or accompany you to your hotel, depending on your travel dates. This marks the end of our services.
