Mombasa to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Depart from your beach resort or Moi Airport early and head to Taita Hills. Upon arrival, check in and have lunch. Take a short break and then enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset. Return to your lodge to relax and get ready for dinner.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary offers incredible game viewing opportunities, with attractions such as elephants, Cape buffalos, African bush elephants, leopards, lions, cheetahs, and dik-diks. The sanctuary also features the World War 1 museum and battlefields. It is a migratory corridor for animals traveling between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks, making it an excellent dispersal area. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Salt Lick Safari Lodge.

Taita Hills to Tsavo East National Park

Early morning game drive and return to your lodge for breakfast. Afterward, depart for Tsavo East National Park to arrive for lunch. The park is an extension of Tsavo West and is home to the red elephants, named for their habit of wetting their skin and then rolling around in the red soil to protect themselves from the sun and bugs. Take a short rest at the lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at Voi Wildlife Lodge.
