Upon Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will go through the emigration process which always takes between thirty minutes to two hours depending on your arrival time. Exiting through arrivals, you will meet a representative from Hooves of Africa Safaris for a short meet and greet. Then, you'll transfer to your guest house in Entebbe for the overnight stay on a bed and breakfast arrangement.

Day 2

Afternoon Game Drive and Optional Night Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park

On this day, we will pick you up from your hotel and you'll drive heading southwards through the lash greens and endless plains of southwestern Uganda with several interesting photographic stops including at the Equator. You'll continue to check in our lodge for your hot lunch as you prepare for the afternoon game drive as you search for antelopes, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, leopards, and many bird species that have been recorded here. There are optional game night game drives to increase your chances to sight leopards. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge.

After your walking safari where you get a chance to get closer, intimate, and immersive way to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of this park. You will have lunch en route and continue to drive southwards through the farmlands of Ankole. Watch out for long-horned cattle and farmers carrying or cycling with the banana (matoke) to the markets. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the edge of the forest.

Day 4

Gorilla Tracking and Community Tour

Gorilla Tracking and Community Tour

After your early breakfast (7:00 am), you will have a short drive to the UWA briefing center where you will be taken through the dos and don’ts while tracking gorillas. After you have been allocated a gorilla family in a group of 8 pax, you will be led by the armed ranger guides off the forest to search for the gorillas. When gorillas have been located, you will have one full hour of viewing them as they go on with their daily lives at a distance of 7-10 meters. After gorilla tracking, you'll drive back to the lodge, change, and get ready for a community walk. You'll have dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive from Bwindi to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Ishasha sector boasts stunning landscapes characterized by savannah woodland dotted with cactus trees, fig-trees, and acacias. The picturesque surroundings enhance the overall safari experience, providing a beautiful backdrop for observing wildlife in their natural environment. This day is dedicated to discovering the vast plains of Ishasha. Look out for elephant herds, topi herds, buffaloes, Kobs, lions, leopards, and hyenas among others. Your dinner and overnight stay will be in the Ishasha sector.

Afternoon Boat Ride in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Transfer to Kibale

After breakfast, you will have a final game drive as you depart to the northern part of the park. You'll check-in at your lodge, have a hot lunch, and prepare for the afternoon community boat on the Kazinga channel.

In the afternoon, you will take on a shared boat cruise on the Kazinga channel to discover more about this park. Kazinga channel is famous for its population of hippos and is said to have the highest population of hippos on the African continent. Other wildlife can be sighted here including the African elephants, the Cape buffalos, waterbucks, lots of birds, and reptiles like the Nile crocodile among others. Later, you'll transfer to the Kibale forest.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Afternoon Bigodi Community Tour

After breakfast, you will drive to Kanyanchu to join others for briefing before you head to the forest with rangers in search of chimps following their calls and tracks. Once chimps have been located, you will spend one hour with them as you learn more about them.

In the afternoon, you'll take a walk in the famous Bigodi wetlands, a community project managed by the community aimed at changing and improving the lives of the host communities. Watch out for olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, bird species, and cultural encounters with the local communities. You'll have dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, starting with a tour to the top of the falls and ending the day with an evening game drive. There is an optional night game drive to enjoy the park under the stars and so the other side of the wild Africa during the dark. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the edge of the park.

After breakfast at (6:30), you'll head out for a drive-in search of cats which might still be busy with a kill or running away from the wet grass. Watch out for leopards, elephants, cape buffalo, giraffes, baboons, monkeys etc.

In the afternoon, you'll take a shared boat cruise to the bottom of the falls in search of animals that come to drink and cool off on the banks of the Nile River such as elephants, waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, the monitor lizard, hippos and many birds. After your boat cruise on the mighty Nile River, you'll have another game drive before heading back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out and proceed to Masindi, drive to Ziwa where you will track rhinos on foot. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you will be able to see rhinos and track them on foot with the help of armed rangers who are there to guide you and protect you throughout the experience and drive to Jinja for an overnight stay. (Depending on the time you leave Ziwa, accommodation on this can or may be booked in Kampala to avoid the long drive).

We will pick you up from the hotel and transfer to the Nile River to start your adventure of the day. For those who love extreme adventure activities, conquering the Nile should be part of your to-do list while visiting the pearl of Africa. This life-changing experience starts with an early breakfast and briefing about the dos and don’ts while on the Nile. After breakfast and briefing, there are disclaimer papers to sign and you head to the Nile. You will be on the Nile for about 6 hours and lunch will be served on the course of Nile.

You will have several guides as you maneuver through the rapids and of the Nile as you conquer several rapid grades. There are several encounters with the wildlife on the Nile including birds and local communities farming on the banks of the Nile. We will share the photos of the whole experience after the day on the Nile. Later, you'll transfer back to Entebbe for your flight back home.
