Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Depending on your preference, you will be picked up from the airport or your hotel. After breakfast, your safari will begin with a stop at a viewpoint, where you can enjoy the beautiful landscape and take photos. You will then continue your journey to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After checking into your hotel and having lunch, you will proceed with an evening game drive in the park, searching for the Big Five and other wildlife.

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will depart for a full-day game drive, which includes a picnic lunch.

In the reserve, you will find a variety of large carnivores. Lions are the most dominant species and can be seen in large numbers. Spotted hyenas are also common and often compete with lions for food. Leopards are prevalent throughout the reserve, as there are plenty of trees for them to climb. East African cheetahs are found in high numbers on the open savanna, where they hunt for gazelles and wildebeest.

African wild dogs are rare in the reserve due to the transmission of diseases, such as canine distemper, and their intense competition with lions. Additionally, several smaller carnivores exist that do not compete directly with lions, including African wolves, jackals, African striped weasels, caracals, servals, honey badgers, aardwolves, African wildcats, bat-eared foxes, striped polecats, African civets, genets, various species of mongooses and African clawless otters.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart for Nairobi. After a short lunch stop, continue your drive to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
