Ngorongoro crater
You’ll enjoy a full day exploring the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Known for being one of the best places in Africa for wildlife viewing, the crater is home to a wide variety of animals thanks to the permanent water source at its base. You'll descend 610 meters into the crater, where you'll have the chance to see black rhinoceroses, wildebeests, buffalo, zebras, elks, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and even endangered giant tusk elephants. You might also spot lions, leopards, clouded leopards, and scavengers like spotted hyenas, jackals, and wild dogs. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is also home to over 500 bird species.
