Day 1

In the morning, you'll leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park, where you'll enjoy an exciting game drive. Your goal is to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, and many other interesting animals.

During the dry season, the Tarangire River is the only water source, and the sun turns the landscape into a dusty, red expanse. In the wet season, the area transforms with thick vegetation and tall, lush grasses. The varied scenery in this part of the northern safari circuit is truly unique. You’ll have lunch at a picnic spot, then enjoy a short game drive before leaving Tarangire. Afterward, you'll travel to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Start your day with a morning trip to Lake Manyara National Park. Explore the shores of the alkaline lake to see the unique tree-climbing lions and the elegant flamingos. Enjoy a tasty breakfast inside the park.

Lake Manyara is home to more than just baboons. You can also find zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, and many other animals. You might even spot predators like tree-climbing lions and leopards. The marshes are bustling with colorful birds, including lovebirds, herons, white-bellied go-away birds, and kingfishers.

You have the option to visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Highlands. This visit will give you a chance to meet Maasai elders, warriors, women, and children and learn about their unique culture and traditions.

Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most renowned national park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s a fantastic place to visit throughout the year, with the annual wildebeest migration being a major highlight. You’ll enjoy a full day exploring the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Known for being one of the best places in Africa for wildlife viewing, the crater is home to a wide variety of animals thanks to the permanent water source at its base. You'll descend 610 meters into the crater, where you'll have the chance to see black rhinoceroses, wildebeests, buffalo, zebras, elks, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and even endangered giant tusk elephants. You might also spot lions, leopards, clouded leopards, and scavengers like spotted hyenas, jackals, and wild dogs. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is also home to over 500 bird species.
