Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you'll set off for Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive with picnic lunches. Your journey will conclude at Fig Tree Lodge, where you'll have dinner and spend the night.

Lake Manyara, extending for 50 kilometers at the base of the 600-meter high rusty gold Rift Valley escarpment, is a scenic treasure. American novelist Ernest Hemingway described it as "the loveliest I had seen in Africa." The compact game-viewing circuit in Manyara encapsulates the essence of a Tanzanian safari. From the entrance gate, the road meanders through a lush, jungle-like groundwater forest where hundreds of baboons lounge casually by the roadside. Blue monkeys dart gracefully among ancient mahogany trees, delicate bushbucks move cautiously through the shadows, and large forest hornbills trumpet loudly in the high canopy.

After breakfast, head to Serengeti National Park for a game drive, enjoying picnic lunches along the way. You'll have dinner and stay overnight at a camp within the park.

Witness the spectacle of a million wildebeest, all driven by an ancient rhythm and fulfilling their instinctive roles in the cycle of life. During a three-week frenzy of territorial conquests and mating, a brief population explosion occurs as over 8,000 wildebeest calves are born each day. Then, it becomes a survival of the fittest as they navigate through crocodile-infested waters on their annual northern migration. This 1,000-kilometer journey begins anew each year.
