Transfer from Kigali Airport to Akagera National Park

After an early breakfast you will be picked by our safari guide who will transfer you to Akagera National Park in the eastern part of Rwanda for an exciting game drive. Lunch will follow within the park. A boat ride will follow in the afternoon on Lake Ihema for more sighting of Hippos, Crocodiles as well as water birds like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Rutete Eco Lodge.

Morning Game Drive and transfer to Bwindi National Park

Experience another game drive after breakfast to an opportunity to see even more game. Elephants, impala, black-tailed mongoose, hippos, oribi, bushbuck, antelope, zebra, giraffe and buffalo are a common sight, as are the olive baboon, vervet monkey and the bush baby.

Head to the Rwanda-Uganda border in the afternoon transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda for next day gorilla trekking. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Musanze in Rwanda

After an early morning breakfast, you will walk to the Bwindi National park headquarters for briefing start of the gorilla trail. Gorilla tracking normally lasts between 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas were last seen by the rangers. You will spend the best hour of your life in their presence. Many people report that to be a lime changing moment for them. Lunch will be packed.

Depending on when you return, you will transfer to Musanze in Rwanda. Dinner and overnight will be at Migano Hotel & Cafe.

Golden Monkey tracking and transfer to Kigali Airport

An early breakfast will start off your day and you will transfer to the Vocanoes National park head offices in Kinigi by 7.00am. for Golden Monkeys trekking. With a ranger in tow your experience will start by 8.00am. The golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forests where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. Find the monkeys and follow them as they feed, notice how they skillfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. Enjoy the views of the Virunga ranges even as you experience the golden monkeys.
You will spend an hour with them after which you will return to the trail head, head back to the lodge for lunch and then to Kigali Airport.
