When you will be landing at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, our Guide will be there to wait for you. He will pick-up you from there to your reserved hotel in Bujumbura city. He will give you a pre-briefing of the trip and give time to break and prepare the next day.

Rusizi National Park visit and Bujumbura city tour

We will wake up in morning to leave the hotel at 8 a.m. after breakfast. We will do Bujumbura city tour mainly visiting Living Museum, Lake Tanganyika, Livingston & Stanley Monument, Independence and Unit Monuments, Cotebu Market and downtown. After lunch we will drive 25 min to Rusizi National Park where we will do nature walk and boat cruise in Rusizi River until where it flows into Lake Tanganyika.

Teza tea factory and plantations and Gishora Drummer Sanctuary

We will wake up early in the morning, after breakfast at 6:30 a.m we will drive around 2 hours to reach in Muramvya province to vist Teza tea factory for getting more information about tea processing and experiencing view of tea plantations. We will leave there to Gitega city which is also political capital for entertaining Burundi's culture at Gishora Drummer Sanctuary and getting the history of Burundi.

Visit Nyakazu faults and Mwishanga and Karera waterfalls

After taking breakfast, we will leave the hotel at 7:00 a.m for exploring Rutana province, where we will try to visit the place used by Germany soldiers against kingdom's army during entering period of German colonizers who were coming from Tanzania. We will leave that place to Karera waterfalls which is also compared with Niagara waterfalls in USA and Canada. We will end the day by visiting the southern source of Nile comes from Kikizi mountain located at Rutovu.

Chimpanzee trekking in Kigwena Natural Reserve

After breakfast, we will leave the hotel at 6:30 a.m to drive around one hour to reach at Kigwena Natural Reserve office to get from there an entrance permit, then we enter in Park to explore and discover different species of primates including monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, and mangabeys. Also we will see different species of indigenous plants which are hosted in that forest then we get out and continue on another side to experience the natural hot spring at Mugara. Then we drive to Bujumbura to stay your last night in Burundi.
