Upon arrival at the lodge, you'll be welcomed with warm hospitality as well as a light lunch and shown to your luxurious accommodations. After their evening safari, visitors gather in a communal boma area to relax and share wildlife observations. During the hot summer months, guests can rest by the pool, which overlooks the Sand River. A full day at Umkumbe Lodge begins with an early wake-up call, followed by a thrilling morning game drive where you can spot a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. After returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, you have some leisure time to relax by the pool, read, or take advantage of any available spa treatments. Lunch is served around midday, and the afternoon offers more relaxation or an opportunity to partake in optional activities such as guided walks & specialized birding. In the late afternoon, you’ll set out on a second game drive, taking advantage of the cooler temperatures offering the opportunity to encounter additional wildlife. Dinner is a delightful affair, often accompanied by a campfire where guests can unwind and share stories. The day concludes with a restful night in your lodge, ready for another morning full of adventure.

Depart Umkumbe Safari Lodge and embark on a Return flight from Hoedspruit to Joburg or Cape Town

Following a final early morning safari and a satisfying breakfast at the lodge, you'll pack your belongings and bid farewell to this unforgettable experience. You’ll then transfer by road to Hoedspruit Airport and continue to OR Tambo Johannesburg International, or opt for a direct flight to Cape Town. From there, you can either return home or extend your adventure with Greatest Africa, discovering destinations such as Victoria Falls, Cape Town, the Winelands, the Garden Route, and beyond.
