Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire

Arusha to Tarangire

Early after breakfast, you will visit Tarangire National Park. The park is believed to have the largest elephant concentration in the world, surrounded by large trunks of baobab trees that are more than 100 feet in circumference. The park also has a few tree-climbing lions, leopards and pythons who frequently hide in the branches of sausage trees to get a better view of their prey.

The Tarangire River flows through the park and becomes the only water source for thousands of migrating animals such as zebras, elands, wildebeests, impalas, giraffes, gazelles, ostriches, flamingoes and elephants in the Dry season. The mentioned facts about Tarangire make it one of the parks with the highest wildlife concentration in Tanzania. Later in the afternoon, you will have a picnic lunch break in the park, then proceed with a game drive. In the evening, you will depart to Karatu for dinner and overnight accommodation.

This caldera is a breathtaking natural wonder, and it is listed as one of the 8th Wonders of the World by UNESCO. It is also listed as a protected area and a World Heritage Site.
