You are starting your fantastic adventure today by being picked up from the airport shuttle departure at 06h45 to travel the distance between Johannesburg and the town of Hoedspruit.

Your arrival time in Hoedspruit will be around 13h30, after which you will be transferred to your private lodge accommodation inside the Greater Kruger National Park. Lunch will be ready upon arrival, after which you can check into your room to freshen up. Then, embark on a nice informative afternoon open safari vehicle game drive in Big 5 territory that will allow for the most optimal viewing of Mother Nature and all the beauty of the fauna and flora.

You will spend the next 2 nights in this Big 5 private lodge inside the Kruger and will be able to enjoy nature in its purest form.

Thornybush Private Big 5 Game Reserve

Awaking early to the sounds of the bush, we have a quick cup of coffee or tea with some traditional South African rusks, after which we head out on our early morning safari.

Waking up early means seeing the animals while they are still active or busy hunting before they go to rest during the heat of the day. After an extensive morning drive, we return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious, well-catered breakfast. Then, we have some time to relax around the pool and enjoy the scenery. Lunch will be prepared by your lovely chef. After lunch, there will be some time for a siesta.

In the late afternoon, when it starts to cool down again, we will head out on our afternoon safari and head in a different direction in search of animals and species we haven’t seen yet. Watch out for some predators as you cruise gently through the bush.

Dinner will be served upon arrival back from your safari.

Thornybush safari and back to Johannesburg

This is our last morning as we head out for the last time on our early morning safari, hoping to catch a glimpse of something special.

After another early morning safari in search of some of the species we haven’t seen yet, we slowly make our way back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, we depart the Kruger National Park area and slowly return to civilisation. We aim to be back in Hoedspruit around 10h45 as your shuttle from Hoedspruit departs at 11h00. We will arrive in Johannesburg around 17h45.
