Your visit to Addis Ababa will begin with seeing the Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. It is the most important church in Ethiopia. In this church, there is a mausoleum of the last emperor of Ethiopia —Haile Selassie. His wife is also buried there. Then, you will see the National Museum which is said to be one of the most important museums in the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa. 3.2 million years old bones of our grand grand ancestor Lucy.

Day 2

Debre Libanos Monastery

Debre Libanos Monastery

After an early breakfast, you'll drive outside of Addis Ababa to the site of a 13th-century monastery, Debre Libanos, built by the Ethiopian saint, Abune Teklehaimanot. Although the original church was destroyed by Mussolini's forces, it is still an important pilgrimage site for the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. As a bonus, packs of the endemic Gelada Baboon are often seen nearby. A nearby overlook provides outstanding views of the famous Blue Nile Gorge, which is on par with Arizona’s Grand Canyon.

Day 3

Wenchi Crater Lake

Wenchi Crater Lake

With this day trip from Addis Ababa, you will drive along the fertile and mountainous lands of the Oromo people to the breathtaking scenery of Lake Wenchi.
In one of the islands at Lake Wenchi, there is a monastery founded in the 16th century which is accessible by walking or riding mules, and riding boats.
You will see how 'Kocho' bread and 'Bulla' porridge are prepared from the Enset or False Banana tree which is the staple food for a large part of the population in southern Ethiopia.
